His Excellence, Honorable President of Federal Republic of Somalia. Honorable Minister of Education, Higher Education & Culture Honorable Minister of Health, Honorable Minister of Sports and Youth. All Honorable Ministers and Parliament Members present Respectable Religious Leaders present The Governor & the Mayor of Mogadishu Capital City The chairman of Somali Medical Association Representative of the Business Sector Medical Directors of our affiliated Hospitals present our colleagues, Senior Officers from other universities.

Representatives of Somali Basic Education Networks present. All Plasma University Community Members Parents Sponsors and Friends. All invited guests in your various distinguished capacities.

First, we must give gratitude and thanks to the Almighty Allah, without whose will, inspiration, blessing and support we would not have celebrated today this remarkable event of the 7th Annual Graduation Ceremony and our University’s remarkable achievementosf 2016.

On behalf of the Plasma University Community, I welcome you to our 7th Annual Graduation Ceremony of class of 2016.  You’re Excellences, t hank you very much for honoring us with your presence today.

I wish to convey my heartfelt congratulations and gratitude to all members of the PU Academic Community for their generous, selfless service and conscientious contribution in making Plasma University truly outstanding university within the nation.

My most sincere congratulations  goes to our graduates Class of 2016, “your graduation is a milestone in your lifetime but it is not the end, it is the beginnings of another chapter, therefore; success is not destination but it is a journey. Remember always you are the true goodwill ambassador of Plasma University.

Congratulations on your achievements, your hard work and dedication has finally paid off. Today, we have over 744 graduates who will receive our academic awards, both at Bachelor Degrees and D iploma levels. It is also pleasing to note that 42 % of today’s gra duates are Female while 58% are Male.

Our alum ina’s job-market attainment have assured that our flag keeps flying higher and for that, I salute you keep it up.

Since its establishment in 2005, PU has substantially grown up and still growing both institutionally and academically. Our foundation is solid and our accomplishments are many, but the achievements of the past are only as good as the vision they inspire for the future.

As PU president, I am extremely proud the remarkable achievement of PU over the past 11 years and how far the university has come as a small humble institute teaching only Medical Lab- Science into full-fledged well respected leading university within the nation, with now running more than 30 undergraduate programs and more than five postgraduate programs under 5 large academic colleges. PU is a University with unlimited of opportunities and boundless potential with pages yet to be written. At PU the future is now.

To point out some progress that PU has made in the last five years:

The construction of 110 blocks of the new PU campus is started.

A new campus (PIU) is opened in Hawlwadaag District in Banadir Region. PU has expanded its regional campuses.

Plasma University has fully invested a farm suited for both entrepreneurial purpose as well as a practical field for the students in Afgoi, lower Shebelle.

More than 2650 students we are graduated from PU’s Different campuses. Membership in our Alumni Association has increased from 690 to 2650.  Plasma University has established a great deal of partnerships with local telecommunication companies, Banks and Hospitals in order to train its students on the necessary skills relevant to their studies.

I am also proud to announce that Plasma University established and developed a

close partnerships to promote academic & cultural exchanges among several

International Universities and organizations around the globe.

These and many other partnership collaborations led Plasma University to become the lead

university and goodwill ambassador of Somali Universities.

We are seeing a greater pride and engagement at Plasma University than ever before. And this is the outcome of the efforts paid by our staff and teachers. Our master plan is to move from concept to action. In the future ahead we will educate and train more qualified doctors, engineers, technicians and lawyers that will be beneficial to our community.

Our strategic plan of excellence in academic, governance & leadership development, sustainability of institutional resources, excellence in marketing & admission strategies, community service & social responsibility, excellence in internationalization & sustainability partnerships are ambitious courses for the University through 2020. We must view our strategic plan as much more than a roadmap for the future. As PU president, I understand that

the world is transforming around us and that we must adapt.
